WHITEPAPER: Windows Imaging on UEFI-Based IBM Servers

When deploying a large number of systems, it may be more efficient to capture an image of the reference system and to deploy that image onto other new systems. The process is simple and straightforward for BIOS-based systems as long as the hardware matches both for reference and target system.

However, with the introduction of UEFI-based systems, the process is not as straight forward as it is for the BIOS-based systems and requires many more steps.This document will detail the steps required to prepare and capture an image from a UEFI-based reference system and how to deploy that image on UEFI-based target systems.

It's assumed that the user is very familiar with the use of Windows PE, ImageX and IBM® UEFI configuration.
