What is BladeCenter Integrated Manager?
Business resilience is more than continuity of business operations. Regulatory compliance, high availability, security and data protection, and integrated risk management are needed to help businesses rapidly adapt and respond to risks and maintain continuous business operations.
IBM BladeCenter Integrated Manager provides failover functions with simplified manageability to help ensure business resilience.
This tool provides flexible functions, including:
- Integrated N+1 availability
- Storage management
- Server and storage monitoring
- Easy-to-use GUI
- Flexibility and extensibility for IBM BladeCenter S.
IBM BladeCenter Integrated Manager runs independently on a hot spare blade. Storage status can be monitored and storage configurations can be changed, and the hot spare blade can automatically take over a failed blade with the storage configuration, boot setting, I/O address, and other functions. The package includes binary code and users guide, which includes screen shots to give examples of how this tool functins in the BladeCenter S environment.
How does it work?
IBM BladeCenter Integrated Manager is a java application which works with Advanced Management Module of the BladeCenter S to monitor storage and blades status. The tool runs on a hot spare blade that automatically takes over a failed blade when the system detects a failure.
IBM BladeCenter Integrated Manager supports server availability, storage management and server and storage status monitoring:
- Integrated N+1 availability: One hot spare blade for N blade servers that take over boot setting, storage configuration, I/O address and other functions.
- Storage management: The tool supports mapping between blades and in-box disk storage or external ports.
- Server and storage monitoring: This tool can monitor server blade status and in-box Disk and external port status.
